Hefazat’s asstt secretary general Sakhawat arrested
PBC News: Hefazat-e Islam’s central assistant secretary general Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji was arrested from his Lalbagh house in the capital on Wednesday (April) evening.

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him in a case of violence during protests against Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s March 25-26 visit to Bangladesh.
DB’s joint commissioner Mahbub Alam said a team of DB arrested Sakhawat Hossain Raji, also an Islami Okkyo Jote leader, from his Lalbagh house in Dhaka few hours before iftar.
Two cases were filed with Paltan police station against Hefazat leaders and activists on March 29 and April 6.
On April 6, an Awami Jubo League leader filed a case against 17 Hefazat leaders, including its secretary general Nurul Islam Jihadi and joint secretary general Mamunul Huque, and 3,000 unnamed people for violence at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on March 26.
Sakhawat Hossain Raji was shown arrested in one of these cases.
Meanwhile, four central leaders of Hefazat-e Islam have been arrested in last several days. On Sunday evening, organising secretary Azizul Huque Islamabadi was arrested from Hathazari in Chattogram by a joint team of RAB and DB.
