BGB deployed at ferry ghats to check exodus of people
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed at two major ferry ghats of the country to curb the exodus of homebound people and contain the coronavirus transmission.
A platoon of BGB personnel has been deployed at Mawa ferry ghat in Munshiganj district, while the another platoon of BGB personnel has been deployed at Paturia to control exodus of people at Paturia-Daulatdia ghat in Manikganj district.
BGB Director (Operations) Lt Col Faizur Rahman told journalists on Saturday night that necessary number of BGB personnel started working from Saturday evening to extend cooperation to Munshiganj and Manikganj district administration. More BGB platoons would be deployed on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, Shibalaya police station officer-in-charge (OC) Firoz Kabir said additional BGB personnel have been deployed apart from police so that homebound people can reach their destinations safely.
Aricha BIWTC’s DGM Zillur Rahman said the exodus of homebound passengers has increased further after Saturday evening.
Thousands of people thronged the ferry ghats to return to their village homes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
