Arrested over Mamunul incident, Hefazat leader dies
PBC News: Hefazat-e-Islam leader Maulana Iqbal Hossain, arrested over the resort scandal involving party leader Mamunul Haque, died at Mitford Hospital in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Iqbal Hossain, joint secretary general of now-defunct committee of Narayaganj’s Sonargaon unit Hefazat-e-Islam, died at the ICU of the hospital around 3pm.

He was also the president of Sonargaon unit Khelafat Majlish.
Subhash Kumar Ghosh, senior jail super of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, confirmed the matter.
Narayanganj district jail super Mahbubul Alam told media that Iqbal Hossain fell sick on May 11 and was given treatment at Sadar General Hospital.
Later, he was taken to Mitford Hospital.
A team of RAB-11 arrested Iqbal Hossain from Jurain area in the capital on April 11. He was the main accused in a case filed over vandalising Royal Resort and creating violence on highway.
