No public exams before SSC from 2023, no final exams till class III
PBC News: Education Minister Dipu Moni on Monday said there will be no public examinations before Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from the year 2023.
“Until now, SSC and equivalent public examinations were held according to syllabus of classes nine and X. In the revised curriculum, SSC and equivalent examinations will be held on the basis of what will be taught only in class X,”said the Education Minister at a press briefing held at the Secretariat in Dhaka.
No final exams will be held till class III and there will be no group division in class IX and X, she added.
In the press briefing, the education minister said “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved the draft of the revised curriculum. A revised curriculum has been formulated with the provision of completion of lessons in the classroom.”
Dipu Moni said, “There will be no groups of Humanities, Science and Business Studies in nine and X classes. There will be an integrated curriculum at this stage. Ten subjects have been fixed up to class X. Everyone will read them.”
“Students will read optional subjects in class XI and XII. In other words, there will be division in Science, Humanities and Business Studies from higher secondary level,” she added.
The minister also said that from now on there will be three public examinations.
