Bilateral talks on with Myanmar on Rohingya repatriation: FM
The foreign minister came up with comments while replying a question from the journalists after paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara upazila in Gopalganj on Saturday.
Mentioning that a resolution has recently been passed by the consensus of all countries in the United Nations (UN) on Rohingya issue, he said it will put pressure on Myanmar regarding Rohingya repatriation.
“I believe the pressure will be mounted on Myanmar following the adaptation of the resolution and hope that the country will create a conducive environment for the voluntary return of the Rohingyas”, he continued.
Earlier, Abdul Momen accompanied by the Sylhet city unit Awami league leaders placed floral wreaths at the Bangbandhu’s grave.
They recited Surah Fatiha and offered a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the father of the nation and his martyred family members.
