2nd meeting over half bus fare issue yields no result
PBC News: The second meeting between Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and bus owners over the students’ demand of half bus fare was concluded without any decision on Saturday.
No decision was made finally regarding the demand during the two-hour long meeting that held at BRTA head office at Banani in Dhaka.
Claiming that most of them in Dhaka are poor, the bus owners at the meeting raised the demand of subsidy from the government instead of introducing half bus fare.
At the meeting, the bus owners asked the BRTA authorities to form a task force to determine their demand of subsidy.
However, the BRTA authorities urged the agitating students to remain calm, saying it would take time to resolve the issue.
