Remove businessman Mohsin’s suicide video from social media
PBC News: The High Court has directed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove the suicide video of businessman Md Abu Mohsin Khan, father-in-law of actor Riaz, from all social media, including YouTube and Facebook.
An HC bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice SM Moniruzzaman took the matter into cognisance and passed the order.
The bench asked to remove the video within six hours and barred all TV channels from airing the video.
The court’s direction came in the wake of senior Supreme Court advocate AKM Faiz bringing the matter to its notice this morning.
The HC also sought a report on the matter from the BTRC by February 9.
Md Abu Mohsin Khan shot himself in the head coming on Facebook live around 9:00pm on Wednesday with his licenced revolver.
Later, police went to Mohsin Khan’s flat at House No. 25, Road No. 7 at Dhanmondi and recovered his body.
Mohsin Khan also left a ‘suicide note’ where he allegedly mentioned that “none was responsible for his death.”
The businessman talked about his loneliness, losses in his business and several other miseries of his life before pulling the trigger.
