Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate comes under attack, 4 arrested
PBC News: Police have arrested four persons in a case filed for attacking a Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday night.
The arrested men are Rana Mortuza, 45, Abdur Rahim, 38, Masuka Sultana, 35 and Jibon Sultana, 28. Rana Mortuza is a member of Belgium unit Awami League (AL).
Abul Kalam Azad, najir of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, filed a case with Panchlaish Police Station at early hours of Tuesday accusing five persons.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (North) Arafatul Islam of Chief Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter.
According to the case statement, some miscreants locked into an altercation with Magistrate Oliullah on Monday night as he asked them not to honking on the road unnecessarily.
Oliullah’s wife was with him at hat time.
At one stage, they started beating the Magistrate in public in GEC area.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took Magistrate Oliullah to the hospital.
Police, however, detained one of the attackers from the scene.
