Hajj to cost Tk 4,63,744 at private level this year

PBC News:  Private hajj agencies have fixed the minimum cost for this year’s pilgrimage package at Tk 463,744.

M Shahadat Hossain Taslim, president of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), announced this at a press conference in Dhaka on Thursday.

This year, a total of 57,585 pilgrims will be able to perform hajj from Bangladesh. Of them, 4,000 can go under the government management and 53,585 under the private management.

“A package called ‘General Package’ has been introduced for pilgrims. Each agency will also be able to offer its own special package. But no package will be less than the minimum package price announced by HAAB, ” Shahadat Hossain said.

Accommodation will be provided for the hajj pilgrims under the general package at a distance of one thousand to one thousand five hundred meters from the boundary of the outer side of Haram Sharif, he added.

Earlier, the minimum cost under the government management has been fixed at Tk 4,62,150, which is more than Tk 1 lakh from the previous year.
