Restrain yourself when using language: Fakhrul tells Quader
PBC News: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday asked Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader to restrain himself in using language.
“The way Mr. Obaidul Quader threatened me yesterday cannot be the language of politics. I request you to restrain yourself in using language,” he said.
“Why are you lying? What democracy are you practicing? You don’t believe in democracy. If you believed in democracy then you would not have spoken using this type of language,” said Fakhrul while addressing a seminar organised by Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal at National Press Club in the capital.
Mentioning that their party never shows disrespect to other leaders, Fakhrul said, “We never disrespect their (Awami League) leaders. We respect every individual’s contribution as they deserve. It was taught by Ziaur Rahman. But, Awami League don’t do this practice. That is why they despise our leaders every moment who served for the country.”
The BNP secretary general further said, “Today, you have beat students on campus and you are justifying it again.”
They (Awami Legaue) appreciated and said Chhatra League has done well. This is what Awami League is.”
Fakhrul urged all to form a greater alliance to get rid of the troublesome situation.
Criticising the government for essentials’ price hike, the BNP secretary general said that the government with its character of looting is pocketing huge amounts of money by increasing the prices of essentials.
“The price of rice has increased another time due to the manipulation of the thieves and looters of Awami League. The government will plunder the profits and cut the pockets of people. This is their main goal. They don’t really want the welfare of people.”
Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal president Jafir Tuhin presided over the seminar which was attended, among others, by Professor Golam Hafij Kenedi and Krishak Dal general secretary Shahidul Islam.
