Ideal College principal, 2 other teachers suspended

The college governing body on Saturday suspended principal Md Jasim Uddin Ahmed and two other teachers.

Besides, a committee has been formed to probe the allegations surfaced against them. Next steps will be taken on the basis of the committee’s report.

Meanwhile, present vice-principal Mujibur Rahman has been made acting principal of the college.

Abdul Jalil, assistant professor of the Department of Mathematics, said it on Saturday night.

Apart from the principal, Marketing Department’s teacher Toufique Aziz Chowdhury ad Bangla Department’s teacher Tarun Kumar Ganguly have been suspended for three months. An investigation committee has also been which will probe the allegations against them.

The decision was taken following a four-hour long closed-door meeting at about 8:00pm on Saturday. The governing body sat in the meeting at 4:00pm.
