বিএনপি মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর গত ২১ মার্চ, মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে পটুয়াখালীর মির্জাগঞ্জে অনানুষ্ঠানিক ঝটিকা সফর করেন। এ সময় তিনি হযরত ইয়ার উদ্দিন খলিফা ছাহেব (রঃ) এর মাজার জিয়ারত ও দরবার শরীফ পরিদর্শন করেন। প্রিয় নেতাকে স্বাগত জানাতে পটুয়াখালী জেলা ও মির্জাগঞ্জ উপজেলা বিএনপির অসংখ্য নেতাকর্মী প্রথমে আশরাফ গ্রিন পার্কে ভিড় জমায়, পরে তাকে নিয়ে হজরত ইয়ার উদ্দিন খলিফা সাহেবের মাজারে যান।

তাকে বরণ করতে জেলা যুবদলের সভাপতি মোঃ মনিরুল ইসলাম লিটন,উপজেলা বিএনপির সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোঃ জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন ফরাজী,উপজেলা বিএনপির সাবেক যুগ্ন আহবায়ক মোঃ আনোয়ার হোসেন সিকদার, উপজেলা পরিষদের ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান হাচিনা বেগম, উপজেলা যুবদলের আহবায়ক গাজী রাশেদ সামস, যুবদল নেতা জাকারিয়া জাকির, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক দলের আহবায়ক মোঃ রফিকুল ইসলাম, ছাত্রদলের আহবায়ক আবুল বাশার মোখলেচ সহ জেলা ও উপজেলা বিএনপি ও এর অঙ্গ সংগঠনের বহু নেতা কর্মী উপস্থিত থাকেন।

উপজেলা বিএনপির সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোঃ জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন ফরাজী বলেন; স্যার আমাদের মির্জাগঞ্জে এসেছেন এটা আমাদের কাছে স্বপ্নের মতো। অনানুষ্ঠানিক সফর থাকায় আমরা ব্যাপক লোক সমাগমে স্যারকে স্বাগতম জানাতে পারিনি। তারপরেও স্যারের আগমনের সংবাদ যত দূরে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে সেই প্রান্ত থেকেই তাকে এক নজর দেখার জন্য লোক ছুঁটে এসেছে।

এ বিষয় জেলা যুবদলের সভাপতি মোঃ মনিরুল ইসলাম লিটন জানান; আমাদের মহাসচিবের এই সফর কোন রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যে নয়। একান্ত ব্যক্তিগত ও অনানুষ্ঠানিক। জিয়া শিশু একাডেমীর মহা পরিচালক হুমায়ুন কবির কর্তৃক প্রতিষ্ঠিত একটি কলেজের ভিত্তি প্রস্তর স্থাপন করতে পার্শ্ববর্তী বরগুনা জেলার বেতাগীতে স্যারের এই আগমনের কারণ ছিল।
